Programs for LGBTQ2+ Seniors – Saturday, May 28th  

You no longer need to register in advance for Saturday programming. Just drop in!

10:00-10:45am

Yoga – A senior’s friendly stretch and relax yoga session. Please bring a yoga mat and block. If you don’t have one there will be extras available.

  • Brain Hour – Play some stimulating games to keep your brain in shape!
  • Coffee Club – Have a coffee in the dining room and chat with friends

11:00-11:45am

Table Tennis – Whether you’ve never played or you’re an expert, come play table tennis with new and old friends.

Silent Meditation – Focus, relax, clear your mind. This is an informal, silent group meditation with limited instruction given. People tend to feel cooler when they’re meditating, you’re welcome to bring a blanket for your warmth and comfort.

Civic Engagement Presentation – Get information on making informed voting decisions for the upcoming Provincial Election. Presented by Centretown Community Health Centre.

12:30 – 1:30

Cards and Board Games – We’ve got cribbage, euchre, uno and much more! Come play cards or try out a board game.

Self Defence Class – Ottawa Senior Pride Network’s own Lyle Borden will be teaching a self-defence class. The purpose of this short self-defence course is not to make anyone into a martial artist. Rather it is to pass on information and a few actions related to both psychological and physical self-defence. Both are equally important and both can provide various means of actual defence”.

 

After Saturday programs walk on over to City Hall to cheer on participants in the Tamarack Race that have raised funds for the Good Companions!

Upcoming Saturdays are June 11th and June 25th
