Dear members, volunteers, clients and visitors to The Good Companions:
Canada Day festivities will be held close to The Good Companions this year. We have been made aware that there could be protests in the area.
In an abundance of caution we have decided to close the centre to in-person programming on Thursday, June 30th.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
The Good Companions is updating its policy regarding screening, temperature checks and mask wearing.
Effective Monday, June 13th we will no longer be requiring a temperature check when you enter the Centre or an agency vehicle. Everyone is required to self screen prior to entering the Centre and an agency vehicle.
The Government of Ontario has announced that it will be lifting the mask mandate on June 11, in all areas EXCEPT in high risk settings such as long term care and retirement homes. Masks will continue to be required in these settings. Healthcare organizations are being strongly encouraged to keep mask mandates in place for the time being. As a health care provider serving similar clients, The Good Companions mask requirements will remain in place, unchanged.
For the safety of those that we serve and for ourselves, we will continue to require masks to be worn by everyone entering the Centre or Good Companions transportation vehicles.
