Recently, the Government of Ontario announced their roadmap for reopening the province. This gradual phase-in process is based on the province-wide vaccination rate and improvements in key public health and health system indicators (such as hospitalizations and the number of patients in ICUs). Reopening consists of three steps, with a minimum of three weeks before moving to the next step. The Good Companions is deemed a recreational centre, and as such is eligible to open in Step Three which could be by end of July to early August. The Good Companions plans to reopen its doors on: Monday, August 9th.
In order to attend the Centre for lunch, programs or social visits, everyone must pre-register up to 48 hours prior to attending. Pre-registration is solely by telephone to avoid any duplication or errors at 613-236-0428. In order to maintain social distancing, we will be opening our doors based on cohort groups (Red group: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Blue group: Tuesdays and Thursdays). We ask that you choose one cohort, and maintain your visits to these days of the week for the time being.
Our Summer Program Registration period begins on Monday, June 21st until Friday, June 25th, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. daily. Once again, our amazing instructors have stepped up, adapted, and are planning to offer a number of your favourite programs online. An updated program guide can be found on our website here. In person classes are expected for the Fall session.
In the meantime, we continue to provide foot care on alternating Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please contact us to book an appointment: 613-236-0428 or email@example.com
We also continue to provide 3 programs per day through our telephone-based program, Seniors’ Centre Without Walls. Click here to see the current 2021 Program Guide.
