For those needing access to food, we are delivering a free food hamper containing groceries, e.g. bread, milk, eggs, fresh produce and frozen meals. Delivery is free to your door.

Telephone Assurance Calls
A daily call for reassurance, made by our volunteers in the morning to check in at a prearranged time. Follow ups are made to alert emergency contacts if you do not answer the phone within a time period specified by you.
LGBT Well-being Check-in
For members of the LGBT Community, LGBT Volunteers call to check in daily, weekdays at a prearranged time. Follow ups are made to alert your emergency contacts if you do not answer your phone within a time period specified by you.
Outdoor Home Maintenance
Referrals to screened, insured companies and individuals for outdoor seasonal essential home maintenance tasks such as lawn care and yard work. Companies are following the protocols of the public health authorities for COVID-19.
Home Help Housekeeping
A referral to a choice of screened independent contractors regarding your regular and/or seasonal cleaning needs. Cost depends on individual service arrangement. Cleaning rates vary, but range from $29.00-$35.00/per hour (2 hour minimum). Companies are following the protocols of the public health authorities for COVID-19.
Handy Help Technology Volunteers
Volunteers can provide technology help over the phone or on video conference. Basic technical support for problems with computers, printers, cell phones and tablets. No in home visits.
Eligibility is seniors age 55+ or adults with physical disabilities 18+ who live north of the Queensway between Preston St. and Blair Rd.

Day Program Without Walls

Effective May 1st, 2023 we will no longer require masking in the Centre. Masks will be available and provided by TGC for any volunteers, visitors, members who want to wear a mask. Please note that should Public Health advise that changes are required then we will return to masking. Some staff, volunteers and members may continue to wear a mask and we will support you.
Construction on Albert Street between Empress and Bronson is scheduled to start on Monday, March 27th. The City of Ottawa is rehabilitating portions of its underground infrastructure along Albert Street, Queen Street, Slater Street and Bronson Avenue. Albert and Slater Street will be reduced to single lanes in each direction starting on this date and lasting until the end of the 2023 construction season.
